how i work
I don't arrive with a program or a checklist.
I begin by listening, observing and building relationships.
With experience across education, play therapy, counselling and early childhood consultancy, I work alongside professionals to bring therapeutic, developmental and educational understandings into everyday practice.
Whether I'm providing supervision, consultancy or professional learning, my goal is the same: to support the adults around children to observe more deeply, understand what they are seeing, reflect with curiosity and respond with intention.
FROM OBSERVATION TO UNDERSTANDING
I believe good practice begins with curiosity.
Rather than moving immediately towards a strategy or solution, I encourage professionals to slow down and notice what is happening:
Observe → Wonder → Understand → Respond → Reflect
What are we seeing?
What might the child be communicating?
What might be influencing their capacity to participate, play, connect and learn?
What could we offer or change?
What happened when we did?
This ongoing process helps turn observation into meaningful, responsive practice.
Why relationships matter
Children grow within relationships.
Children develop within a network of relationships – with families, educators, teachers, therapists and their wider communities.
When the adults around children are supported to work together with curiosity, confidence and shared understanding, children are more likely to experience consistent, responsive support across the places where they learn, play and grow.
